"Few will have the greatness to bend history itself; but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total; of all those acts will be written the history of this generation"~ Robert Kennedy
This has got to be the best way to describe #Africa80. 80 Shapers, 60 Hubs, 40 countries...represented and committed to changing the state of the world during the 25th World Economic Forum on Africa took place in Cape Town on 3-5 June with the full support and presence of the President of the Republic of South Africa, Jacob G. Zuma.

It was the largest ever in the region, convening more than 1,250 leaders from business, politics, academia, civil society and the media under the theme Then and Now: Reimagining Africa’s Future. The 25th anniversary of the forum on Africa was categorized under 3 themes of marshalling resources, enabling market and inspiring creativity. I was part of the youths selected from across Africa to represent the Global Shapers Community at the forum, where I presented the Kampala Hub project sharing is Caring and also meet with people working on Smart Cities. We had different sessions ranging from the SDG’s to infrastructures, education, African stories, entrepreneurship…
My key lessons from all session, meeting with world leaders like, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Gordon Brown, Paul Polman, Patrice Motsepe, Graca Machel, Ashish Thakkar and so many others, is the rule of one and the power of a coordinated movement, it is time for youths to come together in one voice and chat a new course for our world where collaboration not competition becomes the new norm. I was reminded about the responsibility upon me to deliver a better Africa and World to mine and the next generation.
