In May, 2015 together with Prof. Glen Raju I visited two schools in Vizag as potential candidates for smart schools. Mudapaka Upper Primary School (up to 8th grade) was established in 1966 for children from nearby villages. It has 4 classrooms, 1 classroom is in construction mode. It has 60 students (40 girls and 20 boys), 6 teachers who teach 6 subjects: 3 language (English, Hindi and Telegu) and science, social and math. The school has 5 computers provided by organization Wipro - West India. The school has the annual government grant in amount Rs 20,000 per year
OBSERVATION When I reached the School, I observed that the school is in poor condition. There is no any bench, where student can sit and study. Students used to Study on the floor. There is no any drinking facilities for the student even its too be really hot in that place. The windows and walls are cracked, and needs to be repair for the safety of the students. |
