Ruth is a food processing technologist and studied her masters in India on food processing technology. This focuses on sustainable food production, quality and assurance, food preservation, advanced food processing technologies, solar & biomass energy systems, project planning and implementation, formulation of new food products, and food waste management. She received her bachelor degree on Agricultural and Biological Engineering. Both her studies enabled her to work broadly on farm to fork approaches.
She worked as assistance lecturer in Ambo University, Ethiopia for 2 years after her first degree. She also served as a gender office focal person in the Institute of Technology, Ambo University and participated in different activities of the university. She is also a member of our team working on climate smart villages and cities. She is also a volunteer and a member of Rotaract club of Rotary international, Addis Ababa.
Currently she is Associate Researcher I, on food science and nutrition program in Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research. Ruth published her work titled: Optimization of Sesame Roasting Parameters and Level of Ingredients for Sesame Fat Spread.
Besides she is sociable, flexible, energetic, diligent, fast learner, determined, with team spirit, intercultural skills, excellent writing & presentation skill with organizing and leadership skills. She aspires to work with the governments and be international counselor on policies and developmental strategies for sustainable life styles.
